The Burke Rehabilitation Center

Over the past few years, ACC Construction has performed several construction projects for The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, one of which was the conversion of a vacant 3,600-square-foot building into a Biological Research Laboratory. The project entailed a new tap and distilled water system, lab case work, new refrigerated room, fume hoods, exhaust systems, new roofing, HVAC, structural steel and a highly technical electrical fit out.

Other projects for the hospital have included a variety of renovations to the three-story facility, including a daycare center and state-of-the-art conference center. In addition, ACC implemented a lobby renovation that required the delicate preservation and repair of a 100-year-old mosaic tile floor in the main lobby while the lobby was fully functional.

ACC has also been responsible for refurbishing and enhancing the hospital’s grounds, constructing an Olympic-approved 200- 400- 800-meter track with a special surface for wheelchair accessibility, the installation of multiple ADA ramps and the construction of public and private roadways and parking lots.

In addition, ACC has implemented repairs on underground utilities and services and replaced surfaces.

Most importantly, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital has always remained open and fully operational during all of the construction performed by ACC.
