ACC Construction has built several projects for The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, one of which was the conversion of a vacant 3,600 square foot building into a Biological Research Laboratory. Other projects for the hospital have included a variety of renovations to the three-story facility, including a daycare center and state-of-the-art conference center, renovation of the historic lobby and formal staircase, and constructing an Olympic-approved 200, 400, and 800 meter track with a special surface for wheelchair accessibility.
The new Bio Research Lab required a new tap and distilled water system, lab case work, new refrigerated room, fume hoods, exhaust systems, new roofing, HVAC, structural steel and a highly technical electrical fit out, while the historic lobby required the delicate preservation and repair of a 100 year old mosaic tile floor. ACC has also refurbished the hospital’s grounds, installed multiple ADA ramps and constructed public and private roadways and parking lots. We have implemented repairs on underground utilities and services, and replaced surfaces. Most importantly, the hospital has always remained open and fully operational during the construction performed by ACC.
