This stunning lobby renovation was built by ACC Construction for Metropolitan Investors, the building’s owner, and CB Richard Ellis, the property manager. The architects, Iu + Bibliowicz, specified luxurious materials to “brand” the building and communicate its value; the floor is Calacatta Gold Italian marble and the walls are Fiddleback Makore wood veneer. It is an example of how a contemporary design can work in an historic building that was built in 1920. Given the real estate market and clientele, the project demanded an extremely high level of finish; here the details are everything.
